Have you ever thought about an ordinary day discovering that you are part of British royalty? I don’t know if it could happen to one of us mere mortals, but it happened to the protagonist of ‘Better Call Saul‘, Bob Odenkirk.
Playing the character Saul Goodman in ‘Breaking Bad’ even generated the spin-off ‘Better Call Saul’, but it wasn’t enough for the actor.
The adrenaline didn’t just stop on the screen or on film sets. Apparently, his life is very busy and full of discoveries.
When participating in the program ‘Finding Your Roots’, the actor was surprised to discover that he is related to Charles III, none other than the current king of UK.
When reflecting on this revelation, Odenkirk shared his feeling of being part of a story he didn’t imagine and didn’t even know how he should feel about it.

Actor discovers degree of kinship with British family
He expressed surprise, describing the situation as part of unimaginable madness and laughing at the discovery. We understand that this is something quite unexpected.
The actor emphasized that, despite such a connection, he maintains his loyalty to democracy, declaring himself an American and not a monarchist.
Odenkirk also pondered the historical construction of society around monarchs and leaders, a tradition he does not embrace, considering it peculiar and contradictory—as a good American would.
Still in the interview, after saying that his DNA is completely American, the actor — in a comical way — said that he can ponder his prejudices about monarchy.
Apparently, he is not going after his rights as a relative of the monarch and he even guaranteed us a good laugh with the irony.
