O Ultimate Universe will be back in the next issues of Marvel Comics. This is a hypothesis raised in recent days. With that, the main bet to develop this return is Jonathan Hickman, responsible for the entire X-Men, Fantastic Four and Avengers franchise.
And I couldn’t leave out Bryan Hitch, who started this phase.
Marvel shows interest in the return of the Ultimate Universe
If today the Marvel Cinematic Universe (Marvel Cinematic Universe) has its full reach, much of this success is due to the launch in 2000 of the “Ultimate Comics” franchise. The stories allowed new readers to follow the beginning of old characters, recently created in comics.
The company’s big hits, such as “Ultimate Spider-Man” and “The Ultimates”, reinvented the standard for superhero comics in the 2000s. However, after great success, the franchise’s great potential ended up stabilizing and did not generate any major surprises in the market.
This is because most of its stories were added to the main Marvel Comics line, leaving the Ultimate Universe without many surprises for fans. Now, it seems, after its conclusion in 2015 with the Secret Invasion Saga, the Ultimate Universe will be back in the next editions of Marvel Comics.
In an interview, Hickman and Hitch did not state this possibility, but left it open:
“We also thought that the very idea of Ultimate Comics needed to be inverted from what the original universe was. We wanted this to be something that could really only exist in the comics space: a new way of thinking about and enjoying a new version of the Marvel Universe.”
The art used to promote the new edition “Ultimate Invasion” feeds the idea that there will be a transformation in the Marvel Universe, and consequently the return of the Ultimate Universe franchise.
Until this hypothesis is confirmed, fans await the next releases, eager to see again the characters and the concept of Ultimate Comics that modified and shaped the current Marvel.
