“One Piece” is one of the most watched animes, with many fans already having the word in their vocabulary nakamawhich the main characters assign to their friends.
Given this, a curious fact in this story is that the protagonist Luffyfor many years, he did not have any type of dialogue with one of his pirate friends.
In this sense, fans noticed that, in the manga, for a long period of time, Luffy does not talk to the cyborg Franky.
Luffy didn’t talk to Franky for years
Apparently, the last time Franky and Luffy spoke was in chapter 703, when they talked about the mere fruit. After that, Franky and Luffy talk again only in chapter 729, in which Franky talks about the soldiers he met in the Colosseum.
After that, from volumes 74 to volume 90, Luffy and Franky don’t really talk. In turn, volumes 72 and 90 cover two and a half story arcs. Soon, we come to the conclusion that the two spend more than half of the Dresssrosa Arc without saying anything to each other.
Later, Luff and Franky only talk in volume 97; the long-awaited dialogue between Luffy and Franky only occurs in chapter 976. However, it is very short; look:
Franky: “A ship is fleeing!”
Luffy: “It doesn’t matter! We are heading in the same direction.”
In short, there were 274 chapters or 25 volumes without conversations between Luffy and Franky if we don’t count the Transponder Snail chat.
Therefore, from the launch of volume 72, which took place in August 2013, to the launch of volume 9, which took place in September 2020; there are seven years of silence between the characters!
In this sense, it is important to highlight that Luffy has a very friendly personality and this gap of years between dialogues did not occur due to fights between the characters.
Given this, we notice a certain inconsistency, since Luffy is basically the head of the pirates and the plot is always focused on adventures and interpersonal relationships that the protagonist develops with the other characters.
So, it would be great if Luffy started talking to his nakama at least once a year, right?
