Enthusiasts of Studio Ghibli and renowned director Hayao Miyazaki have reason to celebrate. According to an interview by Sato Company with Estadão, the director’s long-awaited and most recent film, titled ‘How Do You Live?’, also known as ‘The Boy and the Heron’ and, around here, ‘O Menino e a Garça’, finally receives expected debut in Brazil.

Nelson Sato, president of Sato Company, revealed in an interview with Estadão that the negotiation for the rights to film took about six months and the premiere is scheduled to take place between February and March.
Sato Company is known for being the distributor of ‘Godzilla Minus One’ in Brazil and for opening a movie theater in the Liberdade region, in São Paulo.
The company specializes in Asian productions and guarantees the arrival of ‘The Boy and the Crane’ on Brazilian screens, before the Oscar night for Best Animation, scheduled for March 10th.

The animation, considered Miyazaki’s “last”, which made him return from retirement, follows the journey of Mahito, a boy who goes on an adventure alongside a mysterious heron. The official synopsis highlights:
“A young boy named Mahito, yearning for his mother, ventures into a world shared by the living and the dead. There, death finds an end; and life, a beginning. A fantastic semi-autobiography of life, death and creation, in homage to friendship, from the mind of Hayao Miyazaki.”
As for the Brazilian version of the film, it has not yet been confirmed whether it will be dubbed in English. Portuguesewith the original audio in Japanese, or whether the English dubbed version will be available, which features voices from stars such as Florence Pugh, Gemma Chan, Robert Pattinson, Mark Hamill, Willem Dafoe, Christian Bale, among others.
