Elliot Page is currently in talks with Marvel to join its cinematic universe, but this is an entirely new role. According to our authentic and proven sources, the actor is not being sought by the company to reprise the character of Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat, which he played in many “X-Men” films, but rather for another one that, as of now, remains mysterious.
Although there is not enough information to continue this article, we should at least speculate about what is most likely to be negotiated between them. We, here at Multiverso Notícias, believe that the actor would receive the proposal to play the role of Machine Man. Find out why below!
Machine man is a rather obscure character in the Marvel Universe, because, initially, he made his appearance in 1977, in “2001: A Space Odyssey”, by Jack Kirby, having been an adaptation and continuation of the film by Stanley Kubrik/Arthur C. Clarke.
Later, the character was also brought into the “Earth-616” continuity, becoming a lesser-known figure, at least not one that appeared frequently in modern comics.
The Machine Man character then received his greatest prominence of all in the recent “Marvel Zombies” comic book line, which began as a story arc in the “Ultimate Fantastic Four” series in 2007, and very quickly became absurdly popular among readers.
The idea of having the universe infected by a zombie virus was introduced into the MCU through the Disney+ series, “What if…”, whose first episode explores a terrible reality in which the planet was almost invaded by zombies and, later, at the end of the season, they returned.
Machine Man has been a key character in the comic book version of “Marvel Zombies,” because as an artificial being, he evidently has total immunity to any type of virus, and therefore cannot be transformed.
Elliot Page could very well bring us a very interesting interpretation as Marvel’s Machine Man if he were really negotiating that possibility. Thus, the actor Elliot Page, being the Machine Man, would have in his arsenal the possibility of using the curious and insecure quality that he ended up bringing to the film “Inception”, by Christopher Nolan, in which he had to navigate through a strange and complex world that was governed by rules that he was largely unaware of.
Finally, because he is an artificial character, Machine Man has a quality that resembles this, and could therefore be a great option for the actor.
