Marvel Comics recently released a new preview of “Monica Rambeau: Photon,” a comic book series. The preview features iconic characters such as “Doctor Strange” and “Spider-Man.” In the MCU, Monica Rambeau first appeared in “Captain Marvel” as a child and, shortly after, appeared in “WandaVision.”
The comic will show the heroine assuming her nickname Photon after years of going by Spectrum in the comics. This will be the heroine’s first solo series and everything indicates that this change in title from Spectrum to Photon will probably be the official codename she will use in the MCU.
This codename change will only be officially revealed with the release of “The Marvels” in 2023. The series will be written by Eve L. Ewing and drawn by Michael Sta. Maria and, in addition to appearances by Doctor Strange and Spider-Man, it will also feature Wong, according to the previews. The new comic series will show Monica completely alone and without a team and, in the meantime, she begins to realize the full potential of her powers as Photon and faces new and many dangerous threats.
Check out what the official synopsis for “Monica Rambeau: Photon” says:
