Five new and talented comic artists were announced for Artists’ Valley by Bis, adding to an already impressive list of more than 40 names confirmed for the event.

Meet the new comic artists who are ready to delight the CCXP23 audience:
1. Thina Curtis (@thina_curtis)

Thina Curtis is a talented fan zinester, recognized for creating stories inspired by tales developed by fans. Furthermore, she is known for organizing events such as “Fanzinada” and “Café Ilustrado & Convidados”.
He is also an Honorary Member of ANZINE (National Association of Fanzine Research).
2. Lelis (@aqualelis)

Born in Minas Gerais, Lelis began his career in local newspapers in 1987. With remarkable stints, including six years at Folha de São Paulo, he collaborated on the illustration of more than 100 books and created seven notable authorial works, such as “Cities of Gold” , “Hortência das Braças” and “Fronteiras”.
His influence extends beyond the borders of Brazil, consolidating him as a multifaceted and internationally recognized artist. It arrives at Artists’ Valley by Bis in partnership with Skript Editora.
3. Gidalti Moura Jr. (@gidaltimoura)

Gidalti Jr. is a talented comic book artist who won the prestigious Jabuti Prize in the comic book category in 2017 with his work “Castanha do Pará”, which was censored for its political content.
Furthermore, his work on “Brega Story” earned him the HQMIX awards for best national album and the CCXP Awards 2022 for best album.
His works focus on the themes of Amazon and the Northern region of Brazil, providing a deeper understanding of this region.
4. Daniel Esteves (@zapata.edicoes)

Daniel Esteves is a screenwriter and editor widely known for his numerous authorial comic books, including “Último Assalto” and “Sobre o tempo em que estar morte”.
He is also responsible for adapting literary classics into comics at Ciranda Cultural. His contribution to the industry earned him awards such as the HQMIX for best national screenwriter in 2020 and the Angelo Agostini for best screenwriter.
5. Eduardo Vetillo (@eduardovetillo)

Eduardo Vetillo is a comic book artist with a long history, collaborating with publishers such as Bloch, Globo, Vecchi, Abril and FTD. Currently, he dedicates his talent to adapting national and foreign literary works into comics.
His striking illustrations can be found in titles such as “O Guarani”, “A Saga de Canudos” and “Liberdade, albeit late”. He also lent his watercolor art to Monteiro Lobato’s collection of classics and illustrated the children’s book “Pequeno Príncipe” for the publisher Pé da Letra.
All artists except Thina Curtis will be present at Artists’ Valley by Bis throughout the four-day event. Thina Curtis will participate on November 30th, December 2nd and 3rd.

Ivan Costa, founding partner of the event and curator of CCXP23’s comics programming, emphasizes the importance of the event for the authorial comics scene in Brazil. He highlights the notable growth in quantity and quality of comic book works in the country, winning awards both in Brazil and abroad.
CCXP23 promises to be an epic celebration of pop culture, providing fans with a unique opportunity to interact with their favorite artists, discover new talent and enjoy a variety of experiences related to the world of comics and entertainment.
