Flanagan chose another film, but changed his mind
The director initially chose ‘Strangers‘, a 2008 film starring Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman, as his first choice.
However, he surprised by opting for ‘Scream’ over equally iconic options such as ‘Hereditary’, ‘It’ and ‘The Conjuring’.
The moment of indecision between ‘Scream’ and ‘Death of the Demon’ made the final choice even more exciting, with the first alternative emerging as the winner.
‘Scream’ is revered as one of the most influential slashers in the history of horror cinema. Since its launch in 1996, the franchise has established an important legacy, expanding into video games and television series.
