Artificial intelligence is something that is causing a stir in all the media. After all, its advantages can save people a lot of time and effort. But to what extent can this be beneficial? Manga fans may not like the union between AI and chapters of the “One Piece” right now.
The Story of ‘One Piece’ and AI
Since the manga appeared, writer Eiichiro Oda has been recognized and congratulated for the success of the story. He was the creator and nurtured the chapters during the 26 years of existence of “One Piece”, until then.
However, keeping the story exciting is a huge challenge for writers, and Oda has done this for more than two decades. So, what makes you “ask for help” from artificial intelligence? Over the years, the mangaka may have felt overwhelmed, and the function of AI is precisely to minimize human effort.
Fans may not like the news
Although it is something much simpler for those who do it, readers can notice the difference, after all, it is not a person who is producing that material. So fans aren’t sure how they’ll feel about it, especially after a Twitter post on February 22.
In the post, the official “One Piece” profile introduced the AI writing a new chapter. However, contrary to many people’s beliefs, the writing wasn’t bad! The first story written featured Chopper’s kidnapping and rescue, and the content was decent for a first experience with the technology. However, there are a few points to note about it.
The setbacks in AI work
While it wasn’t bad, no one can expect the result to be similar to something made by Oda himself, since he alone produced everything during all this time.
Therefore, the second story didn’t seem to make much sense, with Nico Robin going on a strange adventure in search of a tribe. The plots created do not match the current one in “One Piece”, making it clear that the AI was taking inspiration from older chapters.
It is worth remembering that this is a problem also observed in others when using ChatGPT, where the font used to construct the texts appears to be out of date.
Oda’s decision
After noticing these setbacks in the AI’s work, Oda found the story funny and even replied that he would write the chapter that way. This caused fans to share opinions in the comments of the post.
Despite this, it is unlikely that the continuity of “One Piece” is in the hands of a robot, and there are those who say that Eiichiro was joking in his statements.
