In Sweden in October 2023, 33-year-old actor Bill Skarsgård, known for playing the clown ‘Pennywise’ in ‘It: The Thing‘ and for his role in ‘John Wick 4: Baba Yaga’, he was arrested for possession of marijuana.
The news of his arrest only came to light recently, when he was officially convicted of the crime. Skarsgård was arrested at Arlanda Airport in Stockholm, a place the actor knows well.
According to information from TMZ, the star was caught carrying around 2.43 grams of marijuana, which is considered a crime in Stockholm.

It is important to highlight that, as the country has not yet decriminalized the use of cannabis, possession of small amounts for personal use can result in a fine or up to six months in prison.
The court decision came to light on Wednesday (14), when the actor was sentenced. Through information from TMZ, it was revealed that Skarsgård admitted his guilt and will not be arrested for the crime that he committed.
Although he is not imprisoned, he was ordered to pay a fine of 40,000 Swedish kronor, which is approximately R$19,000.
Sweden bans drug use
Sweden is a Scandinavian country located in Northern Europe and is the largest country in the Nordic region.
Known for its vast forests, numerous lakes and coastal islands, it has a developed economy and maintains diplomatic relations with almost all countries in the world, being a net exporter.
As for the controversy involving the actor, Sweden has not decriminalized the use of cannabis and, therefore, he must pay for illegal possession.
Possession of small quantities for personal consumption will result in a fine or imprisonment of up to six months, while possession of large quantities is considered a drug offense and can result in imprisonment of up to three years.
