‘Dune 2’: Austin Butler shares how filming challenged his limits

The long-awaited sequel to ‘Dune‘ is about to hit theaters, promising to once again take viewers into the universe created by Frank Herbert.

With ‘Dune: Part 2’ set to release today, February 29, fans are eager to embark on an epic new journey across the sands of Arrakis.

However, even before its premiere, actor Austin Butler shared details about the challenges he faced while filming the film in Abu Dhabi.

In a recent interview, Butler revealed that the extreme weather conditions of the desert made filming especially difficult for the cast and production crew.

“It was 110 Fahrenheit [43 graus Celsius] its too hot. I was bald, and [a filmagem] it was between two sound stages that were just gray boxes of 200-foot walls and sand. That turned into a microwave. And that was just the first week I was shooting,” Butler said.

Despite the difficulties, Butler highlighted that the intense heat of the desert served to further enhance and unite the team around the common goal of creating a cinematic masterpiece.
