Currently, various subscription offers offered by Canal+ include access to Disney+ in its standard formula with advertising. But those days may soon be over. As Florian noticed at X, Canal+ has become more cautious about integrating Disney+ into its service packages.
We may even see a message saying: “Enjoy standard Disney+ with ads! “Included until the end of 2024.”. Therefore, it seems that the contract between Disney and Canal + will expire at the end of this year. And if Canal is already adapting its communications, it’s probably because a new deal isn’t on the way.
Max replaces Disney+ among operators
The possibility of Disney+ disappearing from the Canal+ offerings in the future arises from the recent arrival of Max in France. This may be a coincidence, but many Canal+ subscriptions have added access to Max at no additional cost. We might think that Canal would sacrifice Disney+ for the sake of Max’s integration. If you have TV shows and movies to watch on the platform, do it before 2025.
Jules Le Hénand, who is still on X, notes that Canal+ is not the only actor who prefers Max to Disney+. Starting June 30, Freebox Pop, Delta and Ultra Essential subscribers will not be able to try Disney+ Standard for free for three months, as before. In place, Can be tested for a maximum of three months with ads For owners of Freebok Ultra or Pop and for one month for owners of Freebox delta, Revolution or mini 4K.
Same story at SFR. New subscribers to the Fiber Power offer had the choice between Netflix Standard with ads and Disney+ with ads for six months; Now they have to choose between Netflix and Max Basic with ads. It is no longer possible to subscribe to Disney+ for free.
Are Disney+ and Canal+ about to end? Offers no longer show this across available channels and streaming services; A banner containing only the existence of the “with advertising” formula until the end of the year.
