Japanese culture is becoming more and more popular around the world every day. In addition to anime, which has become a craze in the West, manga is another very famous attraction coming from Japan. It works almost like the comic books we see here in Brazil.
And it was based on these stories that artist Chake illustrated a fusion of universes. He published an art of the characters from “Chainsaw Man” with references to “One Piece”, another manga that has been successful for over 20 years in Japan.
We can say that it is the union of the new with the old, since “Chainsaw Man” has only been around for a short time. See how the art turned out below!

Fusion of universes
In the artist’s illustration, the characters from “Chainsaw Man”, in addition to being inserted into the universe of “One Piece”, are characterized as the characters from the manga. The protagonist Denji is wearing the character Luffy’s costumes. His friends, Power and Aki, are wearing the clothes of Nami and Zoro, respectively.
“One Piece” became a classic in Japan, with its first manga published in the magazine Weekly Shōnen Jumpin 1997. Since then, the manga has a total of 104 volumes. In addition, it gained an anime adaptation in 1999, which has, so far, 20 seasons. Not to mention that, last year, a film of the story was also released.
Now, “Chainsaw Man”, on the other hand, can still be considered new, because its first publication in the magazine Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump happened at the end of 2018.
The manga was published for a period of two years, with its last edition released in 2020, totaling only 13 volumes. However, last year, it gained an anime adaptation and it was quite successful.
