The magic of literary fantasy is about to gain an exciting new chapter with Amazon’s bold bet on a new series inspired by a best-selling franchise.

This project, shrouded in mystery and expectation, promises to transport viewers to a world full of enchantment, adventure and twists and turns.

What makes this production even more fascinating is the inclusion of the talented Brazilian singer Giulia Be in the cast, adding a special touch of diversity and representation to this long-awaited saga.

‘Children of the Red King’ is a series of books written by Jenny Nimmo, which narrates the adventures of a young man named Charlie Bone.

The story unfolds around a world where some individuals are born with special abilities, known as ‘Children of the Red King’ or ‘Endowed’.

Charlie discovers he is one of the Gifted and is enrolled in the School for Literary Artifacts, a special place for children with extraordinary abilities.

The plot unfolds as Charlie and his friends explore the powers they possess, face challenges and uncover intriguing mysteries.

The main antagonist of the series is Charlie’s distant relative, Manfred Bloor, who is also gifted and has dark and malevolent intentions. He wishes to exploit and control the children’s powers for his own purposes.

Throughout the books, Charlie and his friends face several adventures, uncovering secrets from his family’s past, dealing with dangers and conspiracies, and fighting to protect the world of the Gifted from the threat posed by Manfred Bloor.

When does the series premiere on Prime Video? Amazon initially ordered just a pilot for the series, a strategy that allows producers to assess the format’s potential for success before committing to a full season.

This approach reduces the likelihood of cancellation after the first season, as the pilot is used to test audience reactions and allow for adjustments.

If the pilot is not well received, the project may not even be approved for continuation.
