The Indian bowlers did their best to keep Bangladesh alive, dropping the score to 69/6 in the second ODI. Mohammed Siraj making the first two breakthroughs, sacking inaugural officers Anamul Haque and captain Litton Das at Mirpur on Wednesday, December 7th.
From the start, Bangladesh’s situation worsened when Siraj Haque sent Najmul Hossain Shanto out of LBW in the second round to challenge him into the wrinkle. Shanto scored four from Siraj on the first ball of the eight, but failed to do the same on the next two deliveries. After defeating Shanto in the fourth delivery, Siraj walked up to him and both players entered into a heated exchange.

Shanto responded appropriately by hitting the border on Siraj’s final ball. Shanto’s shot was short-lived, however, when his sense of speed finished off Umran Malik’s strokes with a 151km/h ball and smashed the stump. Despite putting Bangladesh in a difficult position, India didn’t win as much as Mehidy Hasan’s century and Mahmudullah’s 77 led his team to 271/7 in 50 overs.
