“I want to announce my retirement” – Suresh Raina confirms his retirement from all forms of cricket for overseas T20 leagues

Former Chennai Super Kings star Suresh Raina announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on Tuesday, September 6, ending his domestic and Indian Premeir League career. He had not played a T20 match since the match between CSK and Rajasthan Royals in 2021.

He took to Twitter and wrote: “It was an absolute honor to represent my country and my UP state. I want to announce my retirement from all Cricket formats. I want to thank @BCCI, @UPCACricket, @ChennaiIPL, @ShuklaRajiv sir and all my fans for their support and unwavering belief in my abilities.”

Raina previously stated that she had received calls from overseas T20 dealers from South Africa, Sri Lanka and the UAE.

I’ll be playing in the Road Safety Series. T20 dealerships from South Africa, Sri Lanka and UAE have contacted me but I haven’t made any decisions yet.Raina quoted by Dainik Jagran.

Kasi Vishwanathan, CEO of CSK, said: Suresh Raina He had spoken to franchisees about his decision to leave IPL and wished him luck.

“Suresh Raina told us about her decision to leave IPL two days ago and we respect her decision and wish her luck. Kasi Vishwanathan, CEO of Chennai Super Kings, told ANI that she is an integral part of CSK as she has done so much for CSK for up to ten years. He became a part of it and wished him luck for the future.”

Raina retired from international cricket on 15 August 2020 in a ceremony spanning 13 years. Played 18 Tests, 226 ODIs and 78 T20Is. In the ODI, Rina collected 5615 runs, while in the T20Is, she collected 1605. He also scored a ton in the Tests for the first time, and also became the first Indian to score a ton in all three formats of the sport.

He represented CSK for 12 seasons and was integral to the championship four times. He was also part of the 2011 World Cup winning team led by MS Dhoni.
