Mehidi Hassan and mahmudullah In the second ODI held at Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Dhaka on Wednesday 7 December, he made India no easy target with his brilliant hits under pressure. At first, the wickets of Bangladesh fell like a deck of cards with Washington Sundar’s three scalps. But the feud between Hassan and Mahmudullah shattered India’s hopes of limiting Bangladesh to one small goal in the game it needed to win.
Bangladeshi captain Litton Das won the draw and decided to strike first. Indian brisk Mohammed Siraj made the first breakthrough, kicking Anamul Haque out in the second round. Siraj then sacked Litton in the 10th round as well.
Umran Malik was taken to XI, replacing Mohammed Shami. The first was pretty devastating with its pace, and annoyed the versatile Shakib Al Hasan in his first match with his short-distance deliveries. In the second, Najmul Hossain dismissed Shanto, who completely missed the 151km/5 delivery; ball sent to an off-stump hoop wheel on lap 14.
Shakib became Sundar’s first baseman in the 17th round after playing 20 balls and playing eight rounds. The ball went auta to Shikhar Dhawan, who was on the first slide. Sundar was then ejected from the game. Müşfikur Rahim on the 19th.
Rahim played 24 balls and had 12 rounds when Sundar’s long ball on the outer stump hit Dhawan from the inside edge at the time of the slip. Dhawan dived to the left and caught him, but the appeal was denied. Reserve captain KL Rahul (as Rohit Sharma got injured while playing) immediately picked up DRS and after reviewing it, a clean catch was declared.
As Bangladesh’s wickets continue to fall on a regular basis, Mahmudullah and ODI’s first hero, Mehidy Hasan, walked into the wrinkle. While Bangladesh tied in 69/6, these two did not let another goal fall with their 148 lap stoppage between them.
Mahmudullah lost his rook on the 47th due to Malik’s short delivery and walked back 77 laps from 96 guns with seven quads. It was too late for bowlers at the time because Bangladesh had already reached 200 runs.
Despite Mahmudullah’s stronghold, the runs from Bangladesh did not stop as Mehidy and Nasum Ahmed put more than 50 runs between them in the last three laps. Nasum stayed until the end and had a quick 18 laps from 11 balls for two fours and a six, while Mehidy hit 83 balls an unbeaten ton, bringing the team’s overall over 50 to 271/7. What was surprising was that Hassan went out to hit the number 8 and scored his first century.
