The shocking news came this evening when Shane Warne, one of cricket’s greatest players, died in Thailand at the age of 52 of ‘a suspected heart attack’. But surprisingly he also tweeted on the same day about the death of his compatriot Rod Marsh. To offer respect and condolences just hours before his death on Friday.

Marsh was considered the best goalkeeper in the world back then. But unfortunately, last week Marsh suffered a massive heart attack and was in a coma and died of a heart attack at the age of 74 in Adelaide, Australia on March 4.

“Sorry to hear that Rod Marsh has passed away. He was a legend of our great game and has inspired so many young boys and girls,” Warne wrote.

“Rod has valued cricket so much and has given so much to the players in Australia and England in particular. I send lots and lots of love to Ros and his family. RIP friend.”

In the wake of the deaths of these two Australians, current batsman David Warner wrote on Instagram: “Two legends of our game left us too soon. I lost words and it’s extremely sad. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Marsh and Warne family. I just can’t believe it. #rip, you will both be missed.”
