Nepal cricket team captain Sandeep Lamichhane was accused of raping a minor; investigation continues

Nepal team captain Sandeep Lamichhane He allegedly raped a 17-year-old little girl. Police launched an investigation after the girl filed a complaint with the Gaushala Metropolitan Ppolis Circle. The girl claimed that she was raped twice.

“Nepal police launched an investigation into the alleged rape complaint against Nepal national Cricket team Captain Sandeep Lamichhane after filing a minor 17-year-old case,” Nepal Police told news agency ANI on Wednesday.

The girl said that she is a fan of Lamichhane, chats with him on WhatsApp and Snapchat, and the person who asked to meet was the cricketer. Lamichhane asked him to take a trip to Bhaktapur and she agreed.

When the hostel closed at 8pm, she was asked to spend the night with him at a hotel in Pingalasthan, Kathmandu. She claimed that Lamichhane, 22, drugged her and raped her twice.

Police said in a statement that the crime was committed on August 21. Bharat Bahadur Bahore, chief of Kathmandu district police, said police registered the complaint on Wednesday.

“The police are sensitive to such serious incidents. We had the so-called survivor undergo a medical check-up and launched an investigation,” said Rabindra Prasad Dhanuk, chief of the Kathmandu Valley Police Office.
