India may have lost the series but 3rd ODI against Bangladesh will be remembered for the first time Ishan Kisanmaster class. The young 24-year-old roared and doubled at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Saturday, December 10, and set a series of records.

He became the seventh batsman and the fourth Indian to achieve this feat. Other Indians before him – Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma and Virender Sehwag. What’s more interesting about his shot is that he notched double-tons on just 126 balls to create the fastest two-tone history in ODIs, surpassing Chris Gayle’s double-toning of 138 balls in the 2015 World Cup match against Australia. In his 210 rounds from 131 guns, Kishan’s highlights include 24 fours and 10 sixes with an impressive hit rate of 160.31.

Kishan was not the first choice in batting formation for India. He was included in the XI after ordinary India captain Rohit Sharma was eliminated after he suffered a dislocated thumb during the 2nd ODI. Rohit’s absence has allowed the Ranchi-based cricketer to be the first choice of selectors for the 2023 ODI World Cup.

Following the dismissal of opener Shikhar Dhawan, Kishan and Virat Kohli erected a massive 290-lap stand between them. The double face made Kishan the top scorer in the three-game ODI series and interestingly played his first match. Kohli also rushed to his 72nd tone and scored 113 points from 91 balls.

Kishan also passed Australia Shane Watson (185* out of 201 balls) For most runs by a guest batsman in Bangladesh. He became India’s top scorer in the away match, beating former India captain Saurav Ganguly (183 against Sri Lanka in 1999). Also, Kishan’s 210 is the highest scored against Bangladesh.

Speaking of the series, Bangladesh had an undisputed 2-0 lead, beating Men in Blue in the previous two games. India has a chance to save themselves from a whitewash with the sum they have accumulated. So far, India has scored 359/5 on the crease with Washington Sundar (10 out of 10) and Axar Patel (6 out of 9) 45th.
