India won this match by 75 runs and Nair was named Player of the Match. He was also the third man in the history of the sport to convert the Test century to three tons.
He was the second Indian hitter after Virender Sehwag to score three tons and became the talk of the town at the time. However, he lost his place in the Test roster in March 2017 after consecutive poor performances against Australia. He has not played for Men in Blue since.
