Sri Lankan batter Danushka Gunathilaka He was released on bail while awaiting trial on the charge of having sexual intercourse without his consent. According to ESPNCricinfo’s report, Gunathilaka has been banned from using Tinder and other social media accounts.
While the Sri Lankan team was in Australia for the 2022 T20 World Cup, Gunathilaka was removed from the tournament due to a hamstring injury. It was on November 6 when the team was arrested on four sex charges at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Sydney.
Judge Janet Wahlquist accepted Gunathilaka’s bail at the Downing Center District Court in Sydney on Thursday. There she appeared with an audio-visual link from Parklea prison.
But police prosecutor Kerry-Ann McKinnon countered on bail, saying this could put the victim at risk because “This man was at her house, they walked to the address together” But Murugan Thangaraj SC on behalf of Gunathilaka said that the cricketer never went to the area and they walked up to 15 minutes, therefore, “How will he remember where she lived, even if he wanted to in these circumstances?“

Danushka Gunathilaka banned from using Tinder and other social media accounts
Bail was given with 150,000 AUD and other conditions. Danushka Gunathilaka is not allowed to use Tinder or other dating apps. Using existing social media accounts is also prohibited.
According to the police briefing submitted to the court, “The complainant tried to pull the defendant’s wrist by holding his wrist, but the defendant squeezed his neck more tightly. Worrying about his life, the complainant could not get rid of the suspect”
It started after a match on Tinder. They both agreed to meet for a date and returned to her home in Rose Bay. He accused the cricketer of refusing to wear a condom and even strangling him three times. He has yet to make a plea and the case will return to court on January 12.
