BCCI dismisses the entire selection committee; invites applications for roles

In the latest development, the Cricket Control Board of India (BCCI) dismissed the entire panel of national team selectors (senior men) including. Chetan Sharma. The announcement was made via the official Twitter account on Friday, November 18. The board also invited applications for positions.

“Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI) invites applications for the position of National Selectors (Senior Men). Candidates who want to apply for the said position must meet the following criteria in order for their applications to be evaluated. BCCI said in a statement.

There are five positions available and to qualify the candidate must have played 7 Test matches or 30 first class matches or 10 ODI and 20 first class games. He must also have retired from the sport at least five years ago. The deadline for application is 28 November.

“No one who has been a member of any Cricket Committee (as defined in the BCCI rules and regulations) for a total of 5 years is not eligible to become a member of the Men’s Selection Committee. Applications must be submitted by 18:00 IST on 28 November 2022.” the Declaration Additional.

The decision is a response to Team India’s poor performance at the recently concluded T20 World Cup in Australia. It wouldn’t be fair to say that even though they’ve pushed their group stage to the top, they’ve never reached the top and haven’t had a bit of luck.

But in the semi-finals against England, Rohit Sharmaside was unaware. They failed to fight miserably and lost the game in the worst way possible. While dark clouds are still hovering over many former players, it is not yet clear what changes the Men in Blue will bring.
