Snapchat Shows: where and how to buy in France

Since 2016, mobile operators and manufacturers have been destroying us with the arrival of these everyday objects, connected objects that gain a second life and gain new functions by connecting to the internet.

However, the first wave was not very convincing. While home automation has progressed very slowly from year to year, the release of Android Wear watches hasn’t really won over the general public.

However, all of this can change very quickly and very simply: by making linked objects cool. At least that’s what Snapchat thinks, which launched its connected glasses called Spectacles at the end of 2016.

What are Snapchat Glasses?

But what are these Glasses and why should you care? These are simple glasses with a small photo sensor on the sides that allow you to record videos in first person.

Snap Inc commits that the purpose of these glasses is to later share this video on your Snapchat account. The peculiarity of the videos captured by the glasses is that they are round, so you can flip and flip your smartphone without having to redirect the video.

A small circle of illuminated LEDs indicates to passers-by that you’re shooting, so don’t panic if you’re afraid of being filmed unannounced. Videos can be exported for uploading to other social networks, although you will lose the possibility of seeing them regardless of the orientation of the phone.

Snapchat Glasses are compatible with smartphones:

  • iPhone 5 or later, iOS 8 or later
  • Android running Android 4.3 and higher equipped with Bluetooth LE and Wi-Fi Direct

Where and how can I buy Snapchat Glasses?

At the end of 2016, these special glasses were only sold in America and in very small quantities. But today, Snapchat Glasses are now available in France. You have two ways to get your pair: “coral” (orange-red), turquoise or black.

Thanks to “Snapbot” distributors scattered around the world

The great thing about these Glasses, at least when they were launched, was that they were only sold through vending machines scattered all over America. That goes for this European launch as well!

At the time of this writing, a “Snapbot” vending machine has landed at Port de Sufffren, behind the Eiffel Tower in Paris. However, this certainly won’t be the only place where this will pop up, as other distributors are planned.

To track their appearance, simply go to the special Snapbot site, which shows the presence of Snapbots deployed in Europe on a real-time map. Note that countdowns are also available there and will show other locations at the end of their duration.

Note that these glasses will cost you exactly 149.99€.

Buy Snapchat Glasses Online

If the “social experience” of acquiring Glasses through these vending machines doesn’t appeal to you in the least, fear not: Snap Inc’s smart glasses are of course also available online.

All you have to do is go to the official website and click on the “Order” button at the top right to have your precious glasses. Again, these glasses cost €149.99 and you will need to add €9.99 to this for a total shipping costs of €159.98 including tax.
