Google Nest: the brand introduces the connected speaker that will replace Google Home

A few hours ago, several photos appeared on the web showing a new speaker connected to Google Nest. In response to the leaks, Google quickly confirmed the existence of this enclosure to our colleagues at Cnet. Also, the American brand shared first official photo of the accessory.

Unlike the first Google Home of the name, Google Nest, covered with a textured gray fabric. On the design side, it therefore looks more like the Google Home Mini or Google Home Max, which are high-end versions of the speaker. We also find a similar light gray color. On the other hand, the accessory is longer than its predecessors. On the front, we can see 4 dots showing that the integrated voice assistant, Google Assistant, is listening.

That’s not all. Google also shared first promotional video With Mishaal Rahman, Editor-in-Chief of XDA Developers. The 13-second image (seen in the tweet below) shows several Google Nest users. At the end of the video, a boy walks around with the speaker in his arms and asks: “What’s the purpose ?”. Until now, the firm has always placed its speakers on a piece of furniture or a desk. Could this new version be equipped with a battery for on-the-go use like Amazon’s Echo Input Portable, the first connected speaker to take with you?

For now, this is still just speculation. Google is expected to announce its new vault in the coming months, possibly during the Pixel 5 presentation conference in the fall.
