Why You Shouldn’t Buy LG G5 or V20 Right Now

The LG G5 is an impressive phone that offers a lot from last year. But it’s a phone you shouldn’t buy right now. The same can be said for the mighty LG V20. They are tempting options, but buyers should wait and wait a bit before buying. Read on to find out why.

LG struggled with the modular LG G5 last year. The idea did not take hold and the accessories were scarce. As a result, the phone is often on sale. So many people thought. We’re here to explain the many reasons why it shouldn’t be done in 2017.

Nearly a year after the LG G5 was released, there are plenty of reasons why we’re telling you not to buy one right now. And it’s not just because new phones have arrived. Actually, there are several reasons for this. If you need a phone now, go ahead, but if you follow our advice, you’ll be glad you waited. This also applies to the V20.

There are so many great phones right now, it’s a bad time to buy them. Be it Galaxy S7 Edge, iPhone 7 or even Google’s Pixel. This is mainly because all the great phones on the horizon in 2017, last year’s phones are all a year old. This is important when it comes to buying an Android and asking for software updates.

Here’s why you shouldn’t buy the LG G5 or LG V20 right now. Every phone has many features that will make buyers happy, and for some this may be a good way to go. Everyone else, read on for the details.

LG G6 Edition

The number one reason to wait for LG’s phones since last year is what’s next. The LG G6 version is almost here and it looks like the best smartphone ever.

For 2017, LG has completely changed its approach to the smartphone market. They added premium design, water resistance, and a huge screen with a small bezel made entirely of glass and metal. It’s actually 5.7 inches with rounded corners, as we’ve come to expect to see from the Galaxy S8. Our favorite aspect is the stylish design and water resistance. This is the year LG can finally take on Samsung.

Unfortunately, the LG G6 has the same processor as the Google Pixel (fast but not the 2017 model) and only 32GB of storage. However, everything else about it puts it on par with upcoming Samsung phones and the iPhone 8. And it makes it a much better choice than any LG phone from previous years.

One thing to consider when talking about the LG G6 though is the battery. It is no longer removable. If that’s a must-have, just get the LG G5 or V20.

Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus

If you like LG smartphones, Samsung may not be your typical device of choice. This year, however, the company may change your mind. This is because they have a similar idea to LG, with their small bezels and huge screens. Add in a premium design and camera, rear fingerprint scanner and other stuff and we can start to see the appeal.

The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will be the best of the S7 and Note 7. All combined in one stylish device with a giant screen. The Galaxy S8 will have a 5.8-inch display with the 6.2-inch Galaxy S8 Plus. It sounds crazy, but they will be the same size as previous Samsung phones. With the small bezels and the scanner on the back, they won’t be much larger than the LG G6 or Galaxy S7 Edge.

The only issue we see with standby is latency. Because the Note 7 recall has caused Samsung to be more cautious. They added an 8-point battery review and delayed the Galaxy S8 launch event to March 29. Yes, this is coming fast. You won’t be able to buy one until the end of April, though. It’ll be worth the wait, but a month after LG might be tough for some.

HTC U Ultra

While it only has a few improvements over the G5, the new HTC U Ultra is another option that could use a second look. Everything about it has a slight edge over phones from 2016. It also has a beautiful design similar to the Galaxy S7 or the upcoming G6 and rocks a massive 5.7-inch display.

Then, for LG V20 fans, HTC added improved audio and a secondary 2.1-inch screen above the main screen. Just like the LG V20 or V10. Providing more options when developing the software and delivering Android 7.0 Nougat. Starting at $749 it’s a bit pricey and not available from carriers, so that’s a hefty price to pay directly. It’s already been announced and has gotten some bad press, but it’s still a good phone that most consumers will appreciate.

It’s only marginally better than the G5, but if you need a phone now, we’d recommend it before LG’s older phone.

Moto Z (or Moto Z2)

If the idea of ​​the modular LG G5 excites you, we strongly recommend that you take a look at the Lenovo Moto Z or Moto Z Force. If you don’t have Verizon, the phone can be used unlocked. Motorola has followed LG in the modular phones hole, but in an arguably better way.

Overall, the Moto Z may not have much to offer over the LG G5, but it’s a great phone on sale often and still running Android 7.0 Nougat. It also has a ton of Moto Mods unlike LG and more are coming this year. At the same time, another Moto smartphone is coming in the summer of 2017. This is probably too far for anyone to expect, but it’s a thought.
