While the FBI recently placed WhatsApp among the most data-intensive applications, instant messaging service teams announced more options for short-lived messages. Indeed, since August 2021 the app has been offering Snapchat-style ephemeral messages.
The developers detail the various changes made via a blog post on the official WhatsApp website. First, users now have the option enable ephemeral messages by default in all chatsincluding group chats. Messages will disappear after selected delay. However, WhatsApp reminds you that this feature is optional and does not change or delete any of your existing conversations.
“If you choose to enable ephemeral messages by default, we’ll display a message in your chats to let people you talk to recognize it. That’s why we point out that you choose to communicate with all your WhatsApp contacts this way. Of course, if you want to keep messages from a particular conversation, you can easily change your choice.” Describe the app’s teams.

Besides, WhatsApp now includes new disappearance times. In addition to the 7-day period since the feature’s launch, users will now be able to choose a duration. 24 hours or 90 days. In other words, you will have to wait longer to get even shorter times.
