Waze: The display of electric charging stations is finally available in France

A few days ago, Google-owned mapping app Waze added a new feature aimed at helping electric car owners find a compatible charger on their journey. After users enter the vehicle model and plug type in the application, Find the nearest electric vehicle charging stations.

Charging station information is often inconsistent, outdated or unreliable; this is a big problem for EV drivers going to a charging station only to realize they can’t find it or use it. Adding up-to-date EV charging information to the Waze map makes it even easier to charge your car and get help locating where and when the next station is read a Waze blog post. The problem is that this feature has not been deployed in France until now, but that has now changed.

Planning your electric car trips will be a breeze at Waze

Waze has announced that its app can now display charging stations near your trip in France. For this, Waze has partnered with many players in the automotive industry, including Renault, Hyundai and Norauto. As a reminder, for the 2022 summer vacation, Waze has already partnered with Norauto to showcase electric charging stations on major highways.

To use the new function, all you have to do is specify whether you are driving an electric vehicle and the type of plug it has. After entering the information, Waze should automatically show you the charging stations along your route.

Note that not all available charging stations need to be listed already in the app, but are regularly updated to quickly include the latest newly opened stations. So Waze is finally catching up with its big brother Google Maps, which also helps you find the nearest fast charging station to your location.
