The Samsung Galaxy S7 release date keeps getting closer as more details come in. We’ve heard a lot about what to expect with the US launch over the past month, and now both the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are one step closer and we’ve finished one final hurdle.
Today, after months of rumors, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge cleared the FCC in the United States. It’s one final hurdle that devices must overcome before being released in the state.
We’ve heard a lot about both phones and now we have the full model numbers of these two impressive new smartphones. According to the FCC, Samsung will call them the SM-G930A, while the Edge variant will be the SM-G935A. Read on for more details.
Leaks and rumors have confirmed that Samsung will announce two new smartphones on February 21. These are the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, which have a slightly larger screen. Above are the model numbers approved by the FCC report. Then each model will have another letter for US carriers. Like the SM-G935V for Verizon Wireless or the T for the T-Mobile variant.
Past FCC filings have detailed each carrier, as we saw with the Galaxy S6 last year, but that wasn’t the case this time around. We can expect individual models to become clear at some point, but for now, Samsung has passed all certifications for every base model to be sold unlocked in the United States.

No other details or information were disclosed in these filings, but countless other leaks confirm that we can expect it. From the specs, a similar but refined design, a micro SD slot and even IP67 dust and water resistance.

Going through the FCC again was one of the last steps before these phones launch in the United States, and now we just need to find the actual release date.
