The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 release date is clearly approaching, and now is a great time to start preparing for the device’s arrival. One thing you will want to do is set appropriate expectations and we want to help you do just that today. Here are our expectations from the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 release date.
Samsung still hasn’t mentioned the Galaxy Note 5 or Galaxy Note 5 release date, but we’re currently reading about both. Thanks to the onslaught of Galaxy Note 5 rumors, we’ve had a pretty good read on pretty much everything related to Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 successor.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is a good successor to last year’s model and is shaping up to be a solid competitor to the iPhone 6 Plus and the rumored iPhone 6s Plus. It’s expected to include a premium design similar to the Galaxy S6, a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, a new processor, 4GB of RAM, a new S Pen and a host of new features, including more. It’s a phone people are starting to get excited about, especially since it may only be a few days away from its launch.
Rumors of the Galaxy Note 5 launch date and release date have surfaced, and it looks like we won’t have to wait too long for Samsung to make the announcement or for the company to launch the phone. We used to have to wait for IFA, 2015 seems to be not a typical year.
With Samsung Galaxy Note 5 rumors escalating and a Galaxy Note 5 release date rumored, we’d like to take a look at a few things we can expect from the Galaxy Note 5 release date. These estimates are based on what we’ve heard, reliable Galaxy Note 5 rumors, and years of Galaxy Note releases.
Galaxy Note 5 Release Date Announcement
The first thing to expect from the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 release date is its confirmation when Samsung announces the Galaxy Note 5.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 launch date is said to be August 13, and we’ll likely hear everything there is to know about the next-gen Galaxy Note. This includes the release date.
Samsung has been vague about its release dates, but over the years it has taken an Apple-style approach where it has confirmed its debut date on stage. Then days, sometimes weeks later confirms the rest.
We expect Samsung to confirm the Galaxy Note 5 release date for most regions next month. It’s clear that Samsung is trying to beat the Father of Time and the iPhone 6s with its announcement, and it makes sense to give buyers a date as soon as possible.
Galaxy Note 5 Pre-Orders
We’d expect Samsung to offer pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 5 soon after the Galaxy Note 5’s announcement, possibly a day later. Again, Samsung is trying to be on the clock with an early Galaxy Note 5 release and will want to secure as many orders as possible in August before Apple’s iPhone 6s Plus launch.
We expect most carriers to order the Galaxy Note 5 early. Android flagships often go through a widespread pre-order process before they’re released, and we’re expecting nothing less this fall from a phone that’s almost certain to be one of Android’s biggest names.
A Reason to Pre-Order
We expect some carriers to ship the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 before the release date. And if you’re interested, you’ll probably have to pre-order.
Carriers like T-Mobile and AT&T have a habit of rewarding pre-orderers with early shipping dates. Usually, we see Android devices coming out a few days before the release date. For example, some carriers shipped the Samsung Galaxy S6 long before it was released in April.
We expect the same here for the Galaxy Note 5. We may not see it arrive a day after launch, but don’t be surprised if it hits the doors a day or two early.
Galaxy Note 5 Release Date in August
We expect the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 release date to come out in August. Galaxy Note 5 rumors all point to its launch next month, and when there’s a lot of smoke, there’s usually a lot of fire.
Again, it’s clear what Samsung’s intentions are. Apple wants to get this phone out before its iPhones hit the shelves. Whether this will actually work is debatable.
Galaxy Note 5 rumors point to an arrival on August 21 or just days after the launch date. We would expect the Galaxy Note 5 to launch for a number of key regions that day or soon.
We would also expect to see some strays. Rumors point to late Galaxy Note 5 releases for Europe and Russia. We don’t know if that will be the case, but we don’t expect every region on the planet to receive the Galaxy Note 5 on its first day of release. Even Apple can’t do that.
US Galaxy Note 5 Release Date
We expect the United States to be one of the first group of countries to receive the Galaxy Note 5. The rumors indicate exactly this, and there is no reason to believe that one of the world’s largest markets, the USA, will not be like that. Focus on Samsung this fall.
There is evidence pointing to the Galaxy Note 5 release date. We’ve seen AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint Galaxy Note 5 models pass the FCC. This doesn’t confirm a specific date, but it does mean these carriers are ready to launch this phone.
We usually see FCC filings clear on launch day or in the weeks between launch and release. The fact that they have already passed the FCC indicates that the Galaxy Note 5 will have an early US release date.
Five US Carriers
Don’t expect the Galaxy Note 5 to reach tons of carriers in the United States. The Galaxy Note series has always been limited to the five major carriers in the United States. This includes AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular and Verizon. It does not include carriers such as MetroPCS and C Spire. We didn’t expect that to change this year.
Widespread Availability
When the Galaxy Note 5 release date arrives, we expected widespread availability. What we mean is that there will almost certainly be plenty of places to buy the Galaxy Note 5.
Samsung’s flagship phones are always on sale in an incredible number of places, and if the company is trying to catch up with the iPhone in sales, you shouldn’t expect anything different.
Wait for the usual suspects to present the Galaxy Note 5. The list should include Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Target and carrier locations. Finally. This will be an easy phone to buy on the day of its release.
Galaxy Note 5 Prices, Galaxy Note 4 Prices
We expect the Galaxy Note 4 price to drop when the Galaxy Note 5 arrives. This will be a deal in itself. We would also expect retailers to try to lower each other’s price in the hours, days, and weeks after the Galaxy Note 5 launch. When the Galaxy Note 5 arrives, there will be no shortage of Galaxy Note 4 opportunities.
We would also expect there to be a few Galaxy Note 5 deals. Maybe not price cuts, but maybe some tradeoffs that allow buyers to trade in an older device and lower the Galaxy Note 5 price for a fraction of the time.
We don’t expect early price reductions from retailers like Amazon. In the past, they offered their flagships for $20 or more without asking for carrier prices, but nowadays their prices are in line with carrier pricing. If you want to get a big Galaxy Note 5 deal, you’ll probably have to wait a few weeks, maybe even a few months.
Limited Galaxy Note 5 Accessories
While the Galaxy Note 5 is expected to have a redesign that includes different sizes, we don’t expect to see tons of Galaxy Note 5 accessories on its release date.
Some third-party cases will likely be available when the phone launches, but given the design change, we’d expect the overwhelming majority of accessories to arrive a little later in the game. This includes some official Galaxy Note 5 accessories from Samsung.
Few Surprises
Expect this to be a fairly simple version. So don’t expect the Galaxy Note 5 release date to come over a weekend. It will come during the week.
Don’t expect pre-orders or retail stores to open early at midnight. We never see iPhone-style lines on Android smartphone release dates.
And don’t expect a sale. Even the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge managed to stay out of stock in the hours and days immediately after launch. Being a high-end niche device, the Galaxy Note shouldn’t have any issues.
