We’ve had a good idea of what Google’s first foldable smartphone, the Pixel Fold, will look like for a few weeks now, thanks to Jon Prosser’s renders based on a prototype of the device. Another Youtuber today, Dave2D, brought the grip of a smartphone model online, which is probably quite true.
First, Dave2D tells us that the Pixel Fold is 5.7mm thick, which is still relatively thin for a foldable smartphone. cover display 5.79 inches will offer 1080 x 2100 pixels FHD+ resolutionduration The internal screen will be 7.67 inches and a resolution of 1840 x 2208 pixels.
Pixel Fold won’t be the prettiest foldable smartphone on the market
Inside, youtuber directly thick top and bottom bezels around the screen, not found in other foldable smartphones. It is likely that Google made this design choice to reduce the manufacturing costs of its device, thereby making it more competitive against market leaders.
However, according to recent reports, The Pixel Fold would still be priced at $1799.or up to Galaxy Z Fold 4. For this reason, Google will have to invest everything in the smartphone’s internal components and software, rather than the smartphone’s exterior, to entice its customers.
The cover screen is much larger than the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and closer to the Oppo Find N2, which we were able to cover a little over a month ago. So this external display looks perfectly usable when the smartphone is folded. and most importantly, the entire screen seems to be accessible with one hand.
Finally, at the hinge level, Google also seems to have taken a different approach than Samsung. Pixel Fold, unlike Galaxy Z Fold 4 close with no space in the middlewell the two parts of the screen will touch each other along their entire length. The floor in the middle of the home screen should therefore be pretty invisible, but you’ll have to wait to get your hands on it to be sure.
