After staying on Android 9 for more than two years, Nvidia finally decided to migrate its Shield TV boxes to Android 11 in January 2022. This new update brought its share of new features such as support for the Stadia button, with many thirds. -party controllers, automatic disconnection of Bluetooth devices when the box is in standby, and even compatibility with DTS-HD HRA audio streams. Unfortunately, the Android 11 update also caused a lot of problems on almost all of the manufacturer’s boxes. Indeed, complaints proliferated on the brand’s forum. It must be said that the damage was legion. Here are the details of all the fixes provided by this Shield Experience 9.0.1 update.

- Fixed an issue where the “Wi-Fi Roaming Enabled” command would not work properly
- Fixes Kodi issue where long press selection or menu was not detected correctly
- Fixed an issue where pressing the Xbox button on Xbox controllers would not open the Stadia menu
- Fixed an issue that caused IR audio control to be disabled when a USB DAC is connected
- Fixes navigation issues when selecting folders to grant file and media permissions
Casting
- Fixes the case where the shield is not visible on the Cast device
Various
- Fixed a bug where Kodi system files could not be accessed
- Fixed a bug that caused the playback status of videos to be displayed on the home screen
Note, however, that some users have claimed that certain issues persist despite the patch being released on manufacturer forums.
