Running Google’s latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the brand new Nexus 6P smartphone is finally about to launch. The company announced and introduced the new Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P on September 29 and made it available for pre-order on the same day, but the larger model, the Nexus 6P, has yet to be released. Today though, we have good news for those who buy one.
When Google pre-ordered the Nexus 5X and 6P on September 29, they weren’t ready to share a release date, and the company still hasn’t made a statement. That said, there are shipping estimates for all current pre-orders, and we’ll cover that and more below.
After pre-orders went live on September 29, we quickly learned that most orders have an estimated shipping date to leave warehouse in 4-5 weeks, which puts the target release date towards the end of October. Google has yet to confirm an actual date. However, read on for more details.
Things are fine so far for the Nexus 6P version, but that’s not all buyers need to know. The smaller, more affordable Nexus 5X is starting to arrive at buyers’ doorsteps this week, as promised, in 3-4 weeks and just in time, he said.
Users have been receiving the Nexus 5X since Tuesday, but no Nexus 6P pre-orders have started shipping yet. Don’t worry, because if the latest news is true, many people who ordered Google’s new phone could get it tomorrow or Monday morning.
Google’s Nexus 6P pre-order has a 4-5 week shipping estimate, ranking in late October or early November. Personally, I pre-ordered on the 29th and according to Google my Nexus 6P won’t arrive until November 6-9.
However, others have a much earlier arrival date. Multiple users have confirmed that Google has updated the pre-order or “My Orders” page in the Google Store and that Nexus 6P orders are processed, users are charged and shipping notifications will begin shipping soon. If you chose 1-day delivery, Saturday may arrive, but most likely not until Monday or Tuesday next week at the earliest.
Nexus 5X orders were processed on Thursday and shipped on Monday for Tuesday delivery, so expect the same with the Nexus 6P. This means they will start shipping packages for delivery on Monday or Tuesday.
It’s worth noting that Google won’t actually charge users who pre-order the phone and withdraw the price of the phone until it ships. Some users may have seen an early temporary payment, but once the money is actually removed, you should start to see a notification that the payment has been processed, shipped, and received a tracking number.
