A whole new series of leaks have revealed more details and further confirmed the Samsung Galaxy S8. This week, a new Galaxy S8 video has surfaced that could be the first real photo of Samsung’s upcoming smartphone in use. Here’s everything we know so far, and three new leaks potential buyers should see.
At this point we know almost everything about the Galaxy S8. It’s been in the news for months, and the leaks keep coming at an alarming rate. However, nothing is official until Samsung confirms it themselves. That’s why these new photos and videos are so exciting.
The company is expected to launch its new phones in late March and mid-April with a launch date. At least that’s the latest rumor. In the meantime, we’ve seen photos, cases, and much more in the wild. However, we now have a full video render to get excited about. In addition to the first photo of a Galaxy S8 being opened and used, and official Samsung cases that confirm the design. Read on for more details.
Render based on real leaks
As we all know, Samsung has delayed the Galaxy S8 release date beyond its usual February event. Instead, the new Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will be announced in March and launched in April. Much later than any previous year. As a result, we have more time to find information and leaks about what’s in store.
That’s exactly what we have for you today. A lot has been leaked in the last month, but we have three brand new leaks to share with potential buyers. These are the latest looks of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus.
Galaxy S8 Video Render Reveals Its Final Design
Popular leak over the past few years @Onleaks shared smartphones before it was announced. Being extremely accurate with devices like the Google Pixel, Galaxy Note 7 and Nexus 6P. Well, it’s back and released the first Galaxy S8 video that came out of the mouths of buyers.
This is a CAD image of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus factory details, plans or schematics. In the past, they’ve probably used leaked plans from case makers, like in this new Galaxy S8 video. Take a look below.
in partnership with @OnleaksOne of MySmartPrice lots of photos it brings out both phones from every angle. This shows exactly everything we’ve heard so far. We go so far as to approve of big screens, small bezels, rear fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port and more. Here’s another photo for good measure.
Real Photo of Galaxy S8?
Is this a real photo of the Galaxy S8 being opened and used? It certainly looks that way. We’ve seen countless photos and renders in the past, including the famous leaker @evleaks. But these were from closed device. If this is real, we see the big screen and rounded edges, hardly any bezels and the bottom of the Galaxy S8.
First Real Photo of Galaxy S8
This picture was found floating around It’s on the popular website Weibo, which has been available for countless devices over the years. It’s worth noting that this matches other reports and leaks. Up to 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C, small bezel and rounded corners. There’s no Samsung logo on the bottom either, which is nice.
Our only concern is the lack of a dedicated home button and fingerprint scanner on the back, this should show the normal on-screen keys found in the Android OS. They do not appear here. Although Android occasionally hides the on-screen keys to give users a full-screen experience. That’s probably the case here. It looks good, doesn’t it?
Samsung Galaxy S8 Cases Confirm Design
Finally, there may be one last piece of the puzzle. Everything we’ve seen so far comes from 3rd party sources, leaks or rumors. Nothing is concrete. Recently though, HDBlog images taken Things that look like official Samsung cases for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus.
It clearly shows larger 5.8 and 6.2 inch Quad-HD screens and a large cutout on the back that houses not only the camera and flash but also the fingerprint scanner. All signs point to Samsung adding a huge screen with almost no bezels and no physical buttons on the front like we’ve done for the last seven years.
Instead, the fingerprint scanner is on the back like other Android manufacturers, but oddly placed to the right of the camera. Rather than gold, it would be a more realistic placement for ease of use. Either way, we’ll have to wait and see. This could be our first official confirmation from Samsung itself. We expect the company to have a range of official bags and accessories at launch.
Galaxy S8 Features
Now that we’ve shown you a Galaxy S8 video, a photo of the device used, and some official accessories, it’s time to talk about the specs. This information is not new and has been floating around for the past few weeks. However, the new Galaxy S8 video rendering has been added to the spec sheet with more up-to-date information. Here’s what we believe will complement these two phones.
Samsung is using brand new technology to deliver huge screens on a device roughly the same size as it did in past years. We expect the Galaxy S8 to be slightly smaller than the Galaxy S7, but it has a large 5.8-inch Quad-HD display. Thanks to physical buttons and a smaller bezel all around. The rounded edges on the screen are also pretty solid, something we’ll see on the upcoming LG G6 as well.
Next up, the larger Galaxy S8 Plus (name unknown) will have a large 6.2-inch Quad-HD display. It will be slightly taller than the Galaxy S7 Edge, which only had a 5.5-inch display in 2016. Basically, Samsung has managed to deliver big screens and a stunning design while keeping everything owners love about their phones.
Note that in closing, nothing is official until Samsung says it on stage. We expect the announcement to arrive around March 29 with a release date of April 21. It was also said that Samsung will give us the first teaser of the Galaxy S8 at the press conference held at the Mobile World Congress on February 26. Stay tuned for more details.
