LG G4 Release Promotions Continue

For the past month, LG has been busy mocking little bits and pieces of its upcoming flagship smartphone, the LG G4. A Phone that aims to beat the Galaxy S6, HTC One M9 and everything else in the competition. The official launch date that they plan to reveal the phone is scheduled for April 28, but leaks have turned all the details upside down. And today, LG has released yet another image and promotional video to keep the excitement going.

Last year the LG G3 was announced in late May, and more than a month later, it fell far behind the competition. And while this year the new LG G4 will again be released later than its rivals, it should be much sooner than last year. We already know almost everything, but today again a video tease and a photo LG’s Facebook confirmed some important information.

Recently, LG announced the new 5.5-inch Quad-HD display, making fun of the new camera, and invitees showed off some sort of leather design for the back of the smartphone. These were all small promotions and they were saving the rest for April 28. However, a leak this weekend spoiled all the details long before the release date. Read on for a few new details and LG’s latest video.

This is the new leather-clad LG G4

Aside from everything we’ve seen so far, LG isn’t giving up. They posted a few pictures showing the skin on Facebook and a new video has also been dropped. There are several details in the image confirming that the leather will indeed be genuine, genuine leather. It’s not a faux leather like we’ve seen in the past from Samsung.

All the leaks and pictures before this one had leather look, but we weren’t sure if it was genuine leather. It looks like there will be a choice of three regular colors and six leathers while the back is still removable. The picture below is the luxury vegetable tanned leather option.

Then, another video was released promoting the new 5.5 inch 2560 x 1440 (Quad-HD) Quantum IPS display that will be inside this phone. LG promises 25% better colors, much better brightness and an all-around better viewing experience than the LG G3. The quad-hd display wasn’t the best, sometimes dimmed and viewing angles were poor. As of now, we know almost everything about this new phone. The LG G4 will have a 5.5-inch Quad-HD display, 6-core Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It features a micro SD slot for storage expansion and a removable 3,000mAh battery, and a brand new f1.8 stop super-fast and capable 16-megapixel camera with laser autofocus and optical image stabilization.

Now all we need to know is when it will be released, what they will likely announce during the actual launch event on April 28, how much, and whether all carriers in the US will offer this impressive new phone. LG hopes to compete with Samsung and HTC, so they should launch it as soon as possible. We’re hearing about the end of May, but we’ll update once we know more.
