As you know, Android 14 has been officially available to the general public since October 4, 2023. Google confirmed this news during the keynote dedicated to the presentation of the future Pixel 8.
Unsurprisingly, this new version of the operating system brings its share of improvements and new features, starting with the introduction of Ultra HDR for emergency calls via satellite, native support for toggle switches, and a new photo mode. Android 14 also introduces smaller changes, at least on paper.
New Android 14 sharing panel will make content sharing easier
Already available on Google Photos
As can be seen in the screenshots shared by the former editor-in-chief of XDA Developers, The new sharing panel seems much more practical to use. In addition to viewing the thumbnail of the photo you want to share, the user now has access to new options:
- share photo using link
- add the picture to an album
- Send to Google Photos
- Share via Share Nearby
Just click on the pencil icon in the thumbnail. change the photo before sending, such as cropping, resizing or adding text. With the Edit command located at the top right of the sharing panel, user can select other photos to be shared.
A little further down we find the classic options for sharing your content with your favorite contacts or through our favorite applications, for example, Messages, Gmail, Messenger or Instagram. According to Mishaal Rahman, new sharing panel built into Google Photos version 6.56. It will be accessible on all Google Pixels compatible with Android 14.

Google Photos moves to system sharing page in Android 14!
It looks like this is already rolling out for some users. Rita said the Pixel 8 Pro has this feature, and another user with an 8 Pro told me that this feature is also available in version 6.56.
