Galaxy S8 Explained Everything Before Video Released

Inevitably, two new Galaxy S8 videos have surfaced online, revealing key details before their release. The phone has been talked about for months, and Samsung has finally made its launch date official this weekend. More information will emerge as we approach the March 29 launch. We start with these two Galaxy S8 hands-on videos.

For those who missed it, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be officially announced on March 29 in New York. This will be Samsung’s first “Unpacked” event in 2017. However, we already know almost everything, and these videos further confirm the rumors of the past.

The last two months have been very revealing. Photos and videos have shared the new design and huge screens, the full list of features has been leaked, and more information is coming out every day. One video shows both the 5.8-inch Galaxy S8 and the 6.2-inch Galaxy S8+ hardware, while the other is a software tour. Take a look below.

Galaxy S8 to be announced on March 29

As far as we can see and as expected, both new phones from Samsung are very unique. It offers long and thin screens that make them easy to use and hold. Both have larger screens than any Galaxy S to date, and are also larger than any Galaxy Note device.

And while that may sound too big for buyers, the phones aren’t physically bigger than we’re used to. This is because we no longer have a physical home button or fingerprint scanner, and the bezels are extremely small. Similar to the recently announced LG G6. Samsung uses a new 18:9 aspect ratio, so the phones are easy to use with one hand without shrinking the screen.

Galaxy S8 Video Leaks

We already knew all of this thanks to numerous leaks, but it’s reassuring to see both on video. To put it briefly. It essentially confirms all the rumors we’ve heard so far. Without further delay, here are the two latest Galaxy S8 video leaks and hands-on.

In this first Galaxy S8 video, both devices are wearing protective cases. This is not a cumbersome case intended to hide the final design as we have seen in the past. Instead, they look like official Samsung leather cases. It’s one of many accessories to be released with both phones.

The leaker gives us a good look at the regular Galaxy S8 and the larger 6.2-inch Galaxy S8+. Nothing else is learned from the video, but it does confirm the 3.5mm headphone jack, among other things.

Then, the second Galaxy S8 video leak shows us both hardware and software. It’s short and sweet, basically showing the front of the device and some new on-screen keys. While not a major leak, the video below confirms the visual change to the on-screen buttons. Instead of using the style we see in almost all other Android smartphones, Samsung has customized them to fit their user interface.

Again, we see the large curved “Infinity screen” along the edges of the screen with rounded edges. It’s not just aesthetic, the design will help make the screen more durable, and the rounded edges make it less likely to break when dropped. By adding strength to the corner where screens break most often when dropped.

Other details

In one video, the Galaxy S8 and S8+ are shown in Black, and the second in silver. We also expect a Gold model and potentially Coral Blue and others to be released later in the year.

In closing, while it’s nice to see leaks confirming the specs at this point, no secrets will be left when Samsung announces these phones in March. We still have a month to wait before the launch event in NYC and 2-3 weeks before the release date. Rumor has it that the Galaxy S8 will launch worldwide around April 21. Stay tuned for more details.
