A few days ago, we told you about a new feature of the Facebook application that appeared on some iPhones. This allowed these lucky little ones to view a map listing all the free Wi-Fi hotspots nearby. Unfortunately, the feature was still in testing and only available on a handful of smartphones. Today, Facebook is announcing that this feature is rolling out globally on both iOS and Android.
Facebook: finding a free Wi-Fi network becomes a breeze
This is especially useful when you travel outside the European Union, when your data envelope abroad is close to 0, when network X or Y decides to no longer work for some reason, you have exhausted your plan or you want to access it. Internet from your laptop without using your data plan. To use this new feature:
- Open Facebook app
- Go to bottom right: More
- On some devices you will have to tap as a bonus see more…
- touch it later Find Wi-Fi network
- back then Enable Find Wi-Fi Network
In addition, the update takes place on the server side and is therefore immediately available. According to our tests, there are a large number of access points defined in all major cities. You can also navigate the map to find out if you can count on free internet access in your destination city. Additionally, to enable this feature, you must authorize Facebook to find you permanently.
