DROID Turbo 2 & DROID MAXX 2 Release Date Arrived

Earlier this week, Verizon and Motorola took a few moments to officially announce two impressive new smartphones, the Motorola DROID Turbo 2 and the new DROID MAXX 2. battery life and the familiar Verizon DROID branding and are available starting today.

On October 27, Verizon and Motorola announced these two phones, but unlike most announcements where the release date is weeks or months later, Verizon customers only had to wait two days. A rare thing, but currently both the new DROID Turbo 2 and DROID MAXX 2 available From Verizon Wireless.

The new DROID Turbo 2 is a powerful flagship Android smartphone that arrives just in time to replace last year’s original Turbo, and the DROID MAXX 2 is the king of battery life, but with slightly lower specs for those on a budget. Below are more details on both and links to buy these impressive phones right now.

Verizon shocked everyone earlier this week when it confirmed that the new DROID Turbo 2 will have full customization options, just like the Moto X has enjoyed over the past three years. Typically this was just for the Moto X, but now Verizon’s DROID smartphones are getting the same treatment. So owners get a flagship smartphone, can fully customize it as they see fit, and own one of the largest carriers in the United States.

However, these are not the key aspects of DROID Turbo 2. What’s exciting is the beautiful Quad-HD display that’s literally “breakproof”, the excellent 2-day battery life and more.

The DROID Turbo 2 and DROID MAXX 2 are available today on Verizon Wireless, starting at $26 per month for the Turbo 2 and just $16 per month for the impressive DROID MAXX 2. This is one of the cheapest phones on the market, but users. Get a quality device anyway. Here are all the details of each.

DROID Turbo 2 is the powerful flagship phone of the two. It offers a premium experience that is fully customizable like the latest Motorola phones. Users can choose three colors for the aluminum frame. Two colors for the front and many options for the back. From soft-touch plastic to ballistic nylon (our favourite), to the same leather backs as the Moto X, and customize accent colors.

However, buyers who choose the 64GB Turbo 2 with a “refresh” can swap their Turbo 2 for a fully customized model within two years if they want another color combination or if the leather begins to show wear or tear. It’s an extra cost, but a nice addition to the customization options.

Again, for the DROID Turbo 2, $26 per month for the 32GB model and just $30 per month, users get double the storage (64GB) and then a design refresh option. We recommend this route as it’s the best deal on this impressive phone with about two days of battery life and a big, beautiful and unbreakable 5.43-inch display.

As you can see, the DROID MAXX 2 isn’t as impressive as the Turbo, but it’s still a great phone. It comes with a lower resolution display and still looked excellent from our hands-on time linked above. It’s a wallet-friendly 8-core processor with only 2GB of RAM and less storage, but still with a micro SD slot for storage expansion.

It doesn’t have wireless charging, but it still has the same fast charging option, a massive 48-hour battery, and less customization. There will be removable and replaceable backs for users who want to change colors instead of choosing everything.
