Last week, Google announced the arrival of a new version of Android 12 called Android 12L. This was initially designed for tablets and foldable smartphones, but will initially be available in beta for all compatible Pixel smartphones.
As a reminder, Android 12L aims to fix Android 12 issues on larger screen devices, including tablets and folding smartphones. Specifically, the update introduces: A new taskbar at the bottom of the interface and allowsView menus and applications on both sides of the screen to take advantage of all available space. Apps should also display better thanks to new compatibility modes, regardless of screen size.

According to Google, many Pixel smartphones will be eligible for the beta version. Although none of them are foldable devices. Here is the full list:

According to Google’s rollout plan for Android 12L, smartphones will receive the first beta version in December. A second beta will then be available in January, followed by a third in February. Finally, Google does not specify the exact distribution date of the final version of Android 12L, but announced the following:Coming in the first quarter of 2022.
