Now that multiple OnePlus Android 9 Pie updates are available and more betas keep coming, users are patiently waiting for more details. Google released Android 9 Pie only a few months ago and OnePlus already up to date several phones. Everything you need to know, what to expect and what’s new is here.
For now, Android 9 Pie is available for Google’s Pixel family of devices, including the new Pixel 3. Not to mention the Essential phone and a few other devices like the OnePlus 6/6T. And now, we see the company moving to older devices by shipping the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T Android Pie beta.
In fact, OnePlus was one of 11 manufacturers that partnered with Google to test the Android P Developer Preview early. As a result, the company is way ahead of schedule compared to previous years and has delivered the first official Android Pie update just a month after Google did it.
We expected a similar speedy approach for older phones like the OnePlus 5, but they’ve experienced a slight delay and will just join the beta in mid-December.
The company has yet to confirm a specific date other than the first official OnePlus 6 Android Pie update on September 21. This was followed by the OnePlus 6T with Pie out of the box. However, thanks to previous release cycles, we have a pretty good idea of what to expect going forward. We can start putting the update pie together and give you an idea of when it’s due.
