It’s the beginning of April now and you know what that means: It’s time to look back at the applications that marked the month of March. These unmissable little pearls would be a shame not to take advantage of the Play Store!
Could some of these games be on our annual best Android games list? In any case, there is potential in this new batch of March. But rather to see.
Super Mario Run
Frankly, the big video game event of the month was none other than the release of Super Mario Run on Android! After several months of iOS exclusive, Nintendo’s newest game is finally out on Android mobiles. This vertical runner finally lets you take the reins of Mario and his friends to save the princess once again. Tons of levels, lots of replayability and lots of challenges among friends are the keys to its success. But be careful: after beating the demo version, you will still have to pay €10 to unlock the full game. But it’s a sure purchase: additional content is never paid for.
Ghosts’n Goblins Mobile
Are you ready to relive your traumas in the arcade and the first NES games? Capcom continues to release their good old games on mobile, this time with the release of Ghosts’n Goblins. The action-platformer puts you in the shoes of the knight Arthur and takes you through tons of levels filled with demons and evil creatures to save your princess. The principle of the game is simple: when the enemies touch you, you will lose your armor until you die. Ghosts’n Goblins is unforgiving and takes lots of trials before mastering it. The title lacks controller compatibility to be perfect, but its release will always please the nostalgia.
clue
Cell phones have always had a tendency to revive the concepts once connected with board games. With the release of Cluedo, a classic board game comes to life on smartphones and tablets! If you want to shout one last time that you have Colonel Mustard in the library with a candlestick, now is the time to start!
shadowmatic
Thinking games always have a preferred place on mobile devices, it’s very natural. But when they highlight interesting and shifting computer gameplay, we should shine a light on them. That’s good, because Shadowmatic will play on the shadows projected by objects in the game, allowing you to solve puzzles. You’ll need to rotate a few objects to recreate a consistent shape on the wall. Simple yet devilishly effective and addictive!
Island Delta
Noodlecake game studio, which already offers many interesting games on mobile devices such as Alto’s Adventure, has released a very complete game, this time with Island Delta. This is an action/adventure game that will take you through many levels, solve some puzzles and shoot as many enemies as you can. The game is very complete, all 3D and has a very nice story. A safe bet for an original mobile game!
Distinctive Creatures
Mobile platform games all have one big problem: the touch keys are often not sensitive and vibrant enough to push the game too far. Never mind, this platform/puzzle game puts you in control of the playground just like a Lemmings. You will have to cut and tear the screen to direct your creatures to the exit of the episode. The game is cute, the gameplay is very interesting and original: it will be tested!
Octave
Cute and colorful universes are fine… but cold, spooky and dirty universes also have their appeal. At least when it comes to good exploration games and puzzles, it puts you in the shoes of a man who comes to the wrong place at the wrong time, who finds himself in a terrifying dark forest to face dark forces in search of meaning. The character animations may take more work, but the game has a certain bleak appeal.
mushroom 11
Still, in order to move away from the usual “cute” understanding of mobile games, Mushroom 11 game is like a UFO on the Android planet this month. In a post-apocalyptic universe, a new life form appears in the form of a soft mushroom, with which you will have to pass levels. This grows as you absorb the strange lifeforms you encounter, and you can disassemble or reformat it to pass the various puzzles you’ll encounter along the way. A strange but terribly addictive experience.
Frostrune
Since adventure games also have a good share in mobile, the competition in the industry is getting hotter day by day. But The Frostrune deserves a closer look. Created by those who love Scandinavian history and culture, it is inspired by it to give you an adventure of solitude and contemplation on a mysterious island where Norse mythology is expressed. Exciting and graphically stunning, it’s a safe bet for anyone who loves point-and-click.
Link Twin
For the end of this selection, we can go back to some cuteness. For this Link Twin looks ideal thanks to these very simple but full of charm graphics. Your goal in this game is very simple: to pass the slightest obstacle. Except when you’re playing a boy and a girl trying to separate, moving forward together. Your goal will be to use the environment to merge or separate them to advance to the next levels. Very colorful and poetic, the title has a certain appeal.
