‘Predator’: One of the franchise’s main rules is broken in the comics

It is already quite familiar that the predators They are brutal creatures and very well-trained in the art of executing their prey. As the “Predator” franchise wisely established, aliens have a hunting culture, as they seek out the strongest prey on other planets to add to their collection and, thus, improve themselves as a hunting species.

This is the premise that best conveys the real meaning of all the characters already introduced, but recently, we had a Yautja breaking his own rules to go in search of prey that is not at all easy to catch.

In Marvel Comics’ latest “Predator” comic, we are introduced to a new reality surrounding these extraterrestrial beings who seek to hunt on other planets. As previously revealed in other media in the franchise, the Yautja are cold-blooded, which indicates that they need warmer climates to perform at their best in hunting activities.

One fact that contributes to this is that, in all the Yautja’s appearances, the climate always presented a mild and pleasant temperature for exercising, favoring the predator having full conditions for the functioning of its physical capacities.

Here, in the second issue of the new “Predator” magazine, Theta finds traces of a predator living on a frozen, snow-covered planet, immediately questioning how this could possibly happen, since the species seeks pleasant climates.

Given this, what the comic is showing is that the characters have the ability to adapt, which becomes terribly frightening for those facing the creatures.

The story introduced us to Theta when she had to make a forced landing on a cold planet, fighting for her survival, and soon discovered that there is a predator on the planet; after all, there is a trace of its habits around the place where she is.

His initial deduction is that the species is adapting, something that has never been recorded in predator patterns. The planet is extremely cold and should be avoided by the species, which may end up becoming prey in that extreme environment.

Currently, the story is intentionally seeking to introduce something new to the franchise, in order to improve the characters’ involvement with those who will face them, in addition to changing the atmosphere where there is a constant dispute over the strongest.

We were recently introduced to a story where a Predator clashes with a Comanche warrior, something that had never been explored before under these conditions. Thus, we see that the franchise has been undergoing major changes in its comfort zone, which could be extremely positive for future stories.
