‘Project Bloom’: Game Freak bets on unprecedented partnership and announces game unrelated to ‘Pokémon’

The “Pokémon” franchise has always been a huge success in the gaming world. It’s no wonder that its animated series, which is also very popular, was based on the game franchise and released shortly after its first title on consoles.

It is worth mentioning that the franchise was created by the same founder of the developer that launches the games in partnership with Nintendo, Game Freak.

Although it is the most successful franchise and the most profitable in entertainment, generating huge commerce around the brand, Game Freak does not limit itself to projects involving “Pokémon”.

The company now appears to be investing in a new production that has no relation to the universe of its most successful series, announcing the “Project Bloom”.

Game Freak announces new project

The announced game is being developed in collaboration with a Western company, Private Division, which is a division of Take-Two Interactive (owner of Rockstar Games, from “GTA”) for low- or moderate-budget releases.

This partnership is something unprecedented for the brand to date, as it has never operated with the West. “Project Bloom” does not yet have a release date announced, it is only known that it will be available between 2025 and 2026.

The details have not yet been released, but the public has already been told that the game will be an action-adventure game and will be set in a medieval era in the East, with samurai characters.

‘Pokémon’: what to expect from the new game?

The Japanese studio has not yet given any information about the platforms on which “Project Bloom” will be available, but has released some artwork that already shows the title’s heavy atmosphere, with a character in the middle of the forest. Check it out below:

Private Division already has previous releases, such as “Hades” and other games, all of which have a very distinct “Pokémon” setting and style.

Therefore, we can expect the game to be innovative, completely different from those normally released by Game Freak.
