The only hero Wolverine would never defeat is revealed by Marvel

Marvel Comics has revealed who the one hero is that Wolverine could never defeat, as Laura Kinney’s last encounter with the Man-Thing lasted hundreds of millions of years without any winner emerging from this fight.

In “Crypt of Shadows #1”, Wolverine attempts to recruit the Man-Thing for help in a battle to save the Multiverse. However, when the Man-Thing activates his scent without warning, they begin a fight that will not end until the Universe itself physically stops allowing it to continue.

Man-Thing is a very powerful hero, as he is much more than just a monstrous appearance. The creature, who used to be a man named Ted Salis, is connected to and guards the Nexus of All Realities, which gives the option to enter any path to any and all realities in the Multiverse and beyond.

However, in a new encounter with Wolverine, the Man-Thing’s connection to the swamp and his powers accidentally activate the mutant’s trigger scent, leading him to have a tough fight that lasts two eras, with no winner.

In “Crypt of Shadows #1”, the story “Endless Slaughter in the Infinite Swamp” introduces Laura Kinney as Wolverine, meeting the Man-Thing so he can join her in a battle to save the world. The mutagens in the swamp accidentally activate a scent that triggers a trigger, transforming Kinney into her X-23 form, which she was originally designed for.

However, the fight does not last just hours, days, weeks or even months, as the two heroes fight for hundreds of millions of years without defining a winner.

Due to the regenerative abilities of both heroes and the fact that their fight takes place in the Nexus of All Realities, the battle literally does not end for millions of years. Wolverine slowly loses all of his mental capacity and ends up becoming a being of pure rage as the fight shifts between different perspectives, timelines, and worlds.

Given the circumstances of their encounter, Wolverine has met the one hero he could never defeat. The Man-Thing and the Nexus of All Realities are virtually unbeatable. When combined with Laura Kinney’s powers of regeneration, the fight between the heroes has lasted for hundreds of millions (and even billions) of years without a victor being named.
