Franchise general manager Rod Fergusson has revealed that Blizzard is already working on two substantial expansions for the game. The information was shared in an interview with the website Kinda Funny.
Fergusson shared that the game’s structure allows the development team to make adjustments without requiring players to download new files. These updates can range from bug fixes to bugs even adjustments to class gameplay and enemy behavior.
Fergusson also stressed that “Diablo IV” was designed as a long-term, marathon-like experience, and to achieve this, it was necessary to build a team capable of sustaining it over an extended period.
He also shared in the interview that the game’s official launch is approaching, with the developers already finishing the first season. And it doesn’t stop there, because it seems that they are already developing the second season along with the expansions. In other words, it’s sure to make “Diablo IV” fans very happy.
Game will have richer content
Fergusson ended up recognizing a flaw Blizzard had in “Diablo III”, which was the lack of significant content delivery throughout the game’s life. With the exception of the “Reaper of Souls” expansion and a small DLC with the Necromancer class, the game mainly relied on seasons to maintain player interest.
To avoid repeating this experience in “Diablo IV,” the franchise executive assured that Blizzard is committed to providing deeper and richer content. Although the company has plans to introduce classes and stories, they will not be part of the main narrative of the seasons.
