The video game industry has grown significantly in recent times, especially due to technological advances that have allowed for innovation in the player experience.
Through increased graphic quality, gameplay and immersion, this entertainment market has caught the attention of a large audience and generated strong competition for this interest. Currently, the two giants in the segment are Sony, with the PlayStation, and Microsoft, with the Xbox and its versions.
The competition between the companies is well-known, and their strategies to remain industry leaders include console innovations and exclusives in successful games. That’s why Microsoft has gone one step further and has already prepared its next move: the individualization of “Indiana Jones.”
Next ‘Indiana Jones’ will be exclusive to Xbox

“Indiana Jones” is a successful film franchise that has already occupied a place in different areas of entertainment, going beyond cinema and reaching video games, with a large audience.
However, Xbox recently announced that the new title, which still has no release date, will be exclusive to its consoles, infuriating a part of the gaming community.
Furthermore, the console war becomes even more apparent given that on June 22, Bethesda’s senior vice president of global marketing and communications, Pete Hines, revealed during a hearing between Xbox and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) regarding the purchase of Activation Blizzard, an intriguing fact.
According to him, the game “Indiana Jones” would be available on different platforms, but the purchase of Bethesda by Microsoft resulted in the game being exclusive to Xbox.
But what is the justification for this change?
Hines stated:
“Honestly, the main thing [fator de mudança na disponibilidade]in my view, and only in my view, is what I said before about reducing risk and trying to reach a level of certainty.”
Pete refers to the fact that it reduces the quality risks of the AAA game, which, when launched on the brand’s own platform, requires less testing on different consoles and guarantees quality to players, simplifying the process and reducing costs.
However, in some emails exchanged between Hines and Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, different reasons can be seen. While Pete highlights his and Disney’s concern about the change of plans, Spencer reveals that his concern is with the games also released for PS4, which do not directly benefit users of his brand.

Unfortunately, there isn’t much to reveal about the next game in the big franchise. In fact, the most that is known is that Bethesda’s “Indiana Jones” is being developed by MachineGames and was announced in 2021, even receiving a small, unrevealing teaser.
