However, what has drawn the most attention is that these papers suggest the possible addition of a “Crypto Wallet” or, in Portuguese, a cryptocurrency wallet, to the Xbox.

Furthermore, the possible entry of Xbox into the world of cryptocurrencies can extend beyond simple transactions. The world of NFTs, i.e. tokens non-fungible assets that represent digital assets, could become a reality in the gaming environment. This suggests that achievements and items in games can have tangible value, transforming users’ gaming experience.

Phil Spencer, an influential figure behind the Xbox, has addressed the topic before. His words suggested caution, expressing concern about a “playing to profit” dynamic. He highlighted the need to balance genuine entertainment and monetization.

Regarding speculation, Spencer chose to use the X platform, heir to Twitter, to clarify the issue. Without revealing too much, he emphasized that this information is old and assured that concrete plans would be shared when appropriate.

And the innovation doesn’t stop there. Indications suggest that Microsoft is exploring the metaverse universe, possibly in collaboration with Meta.

The words “Metaverse Editors” in the documents hint at virtual reality immersion in upcoming consoles. And considering Mark Zuckerberg’s recent efforts to improve this technology, the metaverse it could soon become a fundamental part of the digital routine of many.
