After a long wait of almost a decade, the long-awaited film “The Flash“. In a brilliant performance, Ezra Miller brings to life speedster Barry Allen, whose story addresses the complex consequences of his actions as he tries to change the course of destiny and save his mother from a tragic end.
The film’s plot is based on the 2011 comic book entitled “Flashpoint”, or “Flashpoint” in the Brazilian version. This legendary comic, written by Geoff Johns and illustrated by Andy Kubert, marked a watershed in the Flash universe, completely redefining the DC landscape.

In this plot, Barry Allen awakens in a modified timeline, in which Captain Cold emerges as the great hero of Central City. Furthermore, his mother is alive and his father passed away from a heart attack rather than being in prison.
In this new reality, the Justice League and Superman himself do not exist. The Batman of this reality, in fact, is Thomas Wayne, Bruce Wayne’s father – who was murdered in Crime Alley -, while Martha Wayne, due to the shock of her son’s murder, became the Joker.
Another change concerns Captain Marvel, also known as Shazam, who in this reality is not just Billy Batson who becomes the hero, but all of his brothers together.
The revelation that this disturbing reality is actually an altered version of his own timeline propels Barry to join forces with Batman, Cyborg and other heroes to face a devastating war between Aquaman’s Atlanteans and Wonder Woman’s Amazons. , whose conflicts have caused destruction around the world.
Furthermore, they come across a weakened Superman, who was not created by the Kent couple, but rather captured by the United States Government and raised in a military base, far from the yellow sunlight, which gives the Kryptonian his powers.
Fans can check out the “Flashpoint” miniseries in a deluxe edition, made available by publisher Panini, on sale in selected bookstores and comic shops.
Additionally, an animated adaptation titled “Justice League: Flashpoint” (2013) is available for streaming on HBO Max, providing even greater immersion into this fascinating world. It is worth mentioning that the TV series “The Flash” (2014-2023), produced by the CW, also addressed the engaging “Flashpoint” saga.
