O year 2024 could be marked by a new revolution in the world of consoles, as game analysts predict.
If the predictions are correct, Nintendo fans can eagerly await the release of ‘Nintendo Switch 2’ later this year, and best of all: for a price of less than US$400.
Expectations surrounding the possible launch
Dr. Serkan Toto, renowned analyst at ‘Kantan Games’ specializing in Nintendo matters, shared his outlook for 2024 with the Games Industry website, highlighting the high chance of a successor to the Switch.
Toto not only confirmed rumors of a ‘Pro’ model, but also pointed out that the company was already working on this new one hardware.
“The time has finally come for a successor to the Switch, although I can say that a ‘Pro’ model actually existed and some developers were already working on the development kit,” revealed Toto.

His price estimate for the next console is $400, with the suggestion that games could also see an increase, reaching $70.
He projects that the Switch 2 will be an upgrade, preserving the essence of the original Switch, especially the portability feature crucial to the Pokémon experience.
Another analyst, Piers Harding-Rolls of ‘Ampere Analysis’, aligned himself with Toto’s predictions, expecting a marginal increase in the console market.
And this happens, according to him, especially with the launch of the “next generation Nintendo Console, more than likely a Switch 2, towards the end of the year”.
Such predictions reinforce the persistent rumors about the successor to the ‘Nintendo Switch’, the subject of speculation since 2023, when a demonstration of its capabilities was presented to developers.
Although the Nintendo has denied its existence, signs point to advanced features, like DLSS, that could mark the next phase in the console’s evolution.
If the Switch 2 follows the “upgrade rather than revolution” trend, it could resemble the transition from the Nintendo DS to the 3DS, with backwards compatibility a key demand among fans.
The future of the console could be revealed during the traditional Nintendo Direct in February, as players eagerly await the surprises that the company has in store for the new year.
Meanwhile, the current ‘Nintendo Switch’ continues to surprise with new releases, keeping players excited about remasters and eagerly awaited new titles.
